GridNet2 eScience Workshop
Aim
This workshop will aim to provide a forum for discussion and demonstration of a broad range of e-Science projects based on participation from members of
GridNet2. This one day workshop will feature both invited and reviewed contributions. The workshop will be divided across three main themes: (i) use of novel computer science techniques; (ii) demonstration provided through applications -- of e-Science concepts; (iii) standards activities and coordination across standards bodies.
The
GridNet2 network has funded participation of UK researchers involved in standards activities and eScience projects
in the UK. These participants also have strong collaboration with partners in other parts of the world. This workshop will encourage
GridNet2 participants and their affiliated collaborators to contribute abstracts outlining how
their work has contributed to work in standards bodies (such as
W3C) and specifications at OGF. This workshop is not
intended to be "closed" to these participants only.
The workshop will also features opportunities for networking through presentations by researchers who are active in e-Science projects.
Submission
Authors are invited to submit 1 page abstacts in PDF format -- printable on A4 paper. Abstracts should
be single column text, using single spaced 10 point font size (please avoid use of specialist fonts -- such as
Asian fonts). All selected papers will appear on the workshop
Web site. Some authors will also be invited to submit longer version of their work for a journal special issue.
All submissions must indicate:
-
Relevance of their work to standards activities/specifications. Relationship of work to GridNet2 is
strongly encouraged;
-
Impact of their work on the relevant applications community;
-
Novel features of their work in a particular subject area -- such as computer science, physics, etc.
Submissions will be selected based on their relevance to the above three factors.
